Barnstaple Camera Club Judging their Mono Competition I happily let them donate my fee to support North Devon Animal Ambulance "We’re dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming domestic animals. For wildlife, we do rescues and first aid before transferring the animal to the RSPCA's West Hatch wildlife hospital for rehab and eventual return to the wild. From hedgehogs and horses to budgies and dogs, we’ll try to be there." https://www.northdevonanimalambulance.co.uk/about-north-devon-animal-ambulance.php |

Westfield Photographic Club "My Journey In Photography So Far..." Thank you to Westfied PC for your donation I've chosen to support the Midlands Air Ambulance as they fo a fantastic job. I live by a hospital and see them coming in to land regulary. If it wasn't for this service i'm sure many people in critical conditions would have lost their lives. |
"Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.
Every second counts in an emergency and on average, our crew arrive on scene within ten minutes, whether by air ambulance or in one of our critical care cars. The charity responds to some of the most traumatic incidents including cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions and sports injuries. The aircraft reaches remote locations to attend to patients unreachable by land ambulance."

Camversation 'The Three Martinis' I will be appearing with Gareth Martin and Mike Martin (no relations) to present our first trio lecture. We all present and judge regularly on zoom and so decided to pull forces for something a little bit different and challenging. So in one afternoon you will be treated to a set of brand new, never before seen, lectures, each approximately 45 minutes long. To book - click HERE Each of us will be supporting our chosen charity for the event. I have chosen a local charity - The Animal House Rescue: |
"We are a small Birmingham based rescue, which takes in unwanted, abused and abandoned animals. All the animals that come into our care are treated for fleas, ticks, mites and worms, they also have a full veterinary 'm.o.t', and are neutered, if over 6 months, and inoculated before going to their new homes.
We do not use kennels, instead we have foster homes, which enable us to see the animals behaviour in a home environment, then any problems can be dealt with and we can re-home them to the most appropriate place."
You can visit their website and facebook page to see some of the good work they do. Elsa is one dog that really got to a lot of people...how she was even alive when they got her amazes me. With much love, hard work and her will to make it, Elsa is now looking amazing and is happy in her forever home.

Norwich & District Photographic Society I did a judging evening for the club and as I don't charge a fee, they offered to donate on my behalf to a charity of my choice. On this occasion I decided to support 'Alzheimer's Research UK' in memory of Dame Barbara Windsor. This pretty much sums up what she meant to so many: “Barbara was a national treasure and much-loved member of our family, who brought fun, laughter and joy to so many."...Lee Fenton CEO of Gamesys https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/donation-page-in-memory-of-dame-barbara-windsor-raises-over-100000-in-days-for-alzheimers-research-uk/ |

Tettenhall Wood Photographic Club I did a judging evening for the club and as I don't charge a fee, they offered to donate on my behalf to a charity of my choice. On this occasion I decided to support 'Help For Heroes' : "Help for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds; their lives changed forever. The Charity helps them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with their lives by providing physical, psychological, financial and welfare support for as long as they need it. It also supports their families, because they too can be affected by their loved one’s wounds. Help for Heroes receives almost no funding from the Government, which means it relies on the spirit and generosity of the great British public." |

Thurrock Camera Club This season has continued to take place on zoom for most camera clubs. They are also facing the possibility of 2021 to be on there too, so I've ben quite busy judging and lecturing around the UK and Ireland. Thurrock CC kindly offered to donate a token lecture fee to a charity of my choice. This time I have opted for the Dogs Trust. During the Covid-19 crisis many animals have been handed to shelters as people are in financial difficulties and cannot cope with the pet food / medication costs anymore. The animals need some help too in these times |

Bingley Camera Club As I lecture for free, some clubs opt to send me a gift payment or suggest a donation to charity. Bingley CC contacted me on the 28th July to ask what charity I would like to support, so I gave them Macmillan, they kindly donated £30.
This was done in memory of Dave & Diane Townsend who sadly both discovered they had the same cancer within weeks of each other. Thank you to the nurses that supported them both at home and in the hospice. (diagnosis to losing them was only about 8 weeks) |
