Kylie-ann Martin. EFIAP, BPE2, CPAGB, LDPS

My name is Kylie and I am located in Sutton Coldfield, just north of Birmingham. I have done some paid shoots for Panache - The Band and The Little Sutton School Prom and I've worked on photography project with a Yoga Instructor. I'm currently working on another with the Founder of the International Taekwon-Do Council.
My background:
I used the '365 Project' to re-spark my photography interests. Not long afterwards I registered with Aston & Erdington Photographic Society and started entering my work into competitions. From there I became a co-founding member, the Secretary and Treasurer of Trinity Photography Group. Here I earned First Place Season Winner in the Novice group 2015. I left TPG and moved to Walsall Wood and won most of the Intermediate trophies for the 2016-17 Season. Over the last few years I have had a number of images accepted into British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE's) and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP's). I have also had a lot of work published by the local press and have done photoshoots for local bands and friends. (You can see these images in the drop-down menus above). In March 2017 I qualified for my BPE1* award, then in June 2017 I achieved my AFIAP award. I became a member of Great Barr Photographic Society (GBPS) and have been there since 2017, you can see my achievements with them in the menu's above. In 2019 I joined the Disabled Photographers Society and applied for their Licentiateship (LDPS) distinction which I got in December. Around the same time I was listed as a Club Judge with the MCPF (Midland Counties Photographic Federation).
In 2020 I went on to achieve my BPE2* distinction along with my EFIAP (1st June 2020). During the Covid-19 pandemic 'Zoom' became the camera clubs meeting tool and resulted in me having a number of UK wide judging events. Clubs were asking for people willing to lecture via Zoom at reduced rates / free as they had no membership or door fees coming in. I was asked a few times if I had a lecture, which I didn't, so I created my first one. It wasn't an area I planned to go into, but I found the process fun to do and above all I wanted to give back to the community and know that I was helping keep clubs going through such a difficult time. I knew that the GBPS zoom meetings had been vital for me, many UK club members are older and possibly in isolation, zoom could be their only social interaction.
As we move into 2021, I'm delighted to announce that I have achieved my CPAGB and that Judging and Lecturing is still going strong on Zoom. I have a new mono lecture ready to launch on 18th January and a number of 'partnership' events coming up....so keep watching this space!
On 24th February 2022 I launched a group called 'Re-Imagine Yourself', the aim being for people with anxiety and other mental health issues to try photography, with support, to see if it helps reduce some of the isolation and stresses felt. Covid still sits in the back of many people's minds and as a result many clubs are embracing hybrid evenings so that people can choose to stay on-line or return to club premises. This is great as it enable me to still zoom to clubs to lecture and judge. I also became a member of Smethwick Photographic Society.
I have some work for viewing in the galleries and I am happy to sell my images. I have print prices listed in the sales section, if you would like canvas prints please contact me with the size you require and I can price that for you. I also have some keyring gifts available.
