"Dear Kylie
Many many thanks for your patience with us last night, it wasn't the best of starts but you did a wonderful job and we liked the way you read the pictures,
I don't think you missed anything. Hopefully some of our members will take things on board that you said and who knows we may see some improvement in their work.
Although it would have been easy to dismiss last night and not bother with Zoom again because of the hassle our competition secretary had We certainly saw the benefits of the remote judging once you was able to do your bit, and your experience shone through and gave us confidence in the process
So I think we will carry on and run some of our competitions in this manner as long as the club agrees (and we must get the treasurer to get us a club account next time)
Thanks again and Have a good Christmas and a great New Year
Brian"

"Hi Kylie
Thank you very much for judging our Mono competition on Thursday 8th December. I don't think I can add much to what our Chairman Steve Batchelor said at the end of the evening. Other than to thank you again for the time you put into judging and the helpful comments made about all of the 65 photos shown.
I have attached for your information the letter I will be sending to North Devon Animal Ambulance to accompany our cheque for £30 in lieu of a fee.
Looking forward to your talk "My Journey Into Mono" on 2nd February.
Best wishes
Mike"

"Dear Kylie
Thank you again Kylie, for judging the members “Open Monochrome” event. With 65 images to critique and then the final awards, it certainly wasn’t an easy task. I have to say that your method of pointing out the “good” and the “not so good” part in an image using the pen facility in Zoom was excellent. You are the first judge we had at the club to do this technique. The members also appreciated this approach from the very positive comments I have received.
Scoring and critiquing images is never easy, but I believe that the final selection of the highest scoring set of images was on the mark. A truly enjoyable and informative evening by you judging this competition. Excellent!
So, on behalf of the club committee and its members I would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation for judging the above competition. We look forward to see you on the 2nd February with your talk “My journey in Mono”.
Do stay safe in this current climate.
All the very best from the members and the committee.
Regards, Ron"

"Hi Kylie
I would just like to offer our genuine thanks for your time in judging our open pdi competition last Tuesday...
We were very appreciative of your consideration of every image presented and am sure that your comments/suggestions/observations
etc. were well received; and will be particularly helpful to our less experienced members.
I was not at all concerned about slightly running over time, as we were all able to learn something that evening.
So thank you for being so committed.
Hopefully we shall have the opportunity to welcome you back to Conwy on another occasion.
With thanks and regards

Eastbourne Focus Digital Camera Club
Competition - Themed - Bridges, Arches, Structures
The club were in a new venue so had a whole host of technical difficulties with their Wi-Fi and the setting up to link zoom in. After about 50 mins they got everything working and we made a start. To help out I ran the images from my end. There was a noticeable time lag for them so we ended up with some audience participation involving cheers to let me know when the next image had arrived on their screen....how to make the best out of a slightly awkward flow to the night.

Just to say a huge thank you for this evening. I can’t apologise enough for all the disasters we encountered but with your help we managed to plough on!! I do hope we haven’t frightened you off as I’m sure we will call on you to judge again in the future.
I know everyone really appreciated your efforts, particularly with all the interruptions and as usual found your critique interesting and helpful.
Thanks once again and I look forward to another ‘virtual’ meet up another time.

"Morning Kylie,
Thank you so much for spending so much time and expertise to judge our Landscape competition last night. WE are a small club but there was a decent attendance last night and I’m sure the members enjoyed the evening. I really like the function that you used to draw on the image to suggest changes and improvements – it’s a great help.
We are nearing the end of the 2021/2022 season, but I’d be delighted to think that we can welcome you back in the next season. We intend to continue via Zoom, but we will be meeting in our usual meeting hall. We are assured that the broadband is sufficient…hope so!
Many thanks once again,

"Good Morning Kylie,
On behalf of us all at Axminster Photography Group a big Thank you your walk through our images last evening was a joy.
Whilst initially you questioned the request for you to “share” your screen as not being the “norm” the fact that you were able to walk round the images with your cursor to highlight your points, additionally where you “cropped” really brought home your thinking and proved most intuitive so thank you for this added bonus.
We will feature the competition and award in our local press, I’ll forward you a copy for your record’s.
Thank you again, and I’m sure we’ll speak again in the future and should you find yourself’s in East Devon you would be most welcome to call by.
Take Care & Stay Safe

"Hi Kylie,
A huge thank you from me and all at Weymouth CC for your superb judging, time, and expertise last night. We all really befitted from your compliments and suggestions for possible improvements on our images. It so refreshing to have a judge who is consistent with their marks and its lovely to ‘meet ‘ someone new. Well, we wondered if you would be available on 3rd May (a Tuesday) this year to judge our new ‘landscape’ competition. The members were keen that I should ask you…especially those who did well last night.
Looking forward to hearing from you and many thanks once again,
Chris"

"Thank you for judging our Nature and Scapes competitions here at Leicester Forest last Thursday.
You truly did an heroic job with 120 images to review and comment upon. With such a huge entry it seemed like an impossible job but you had clearly looked at each image beforehand and made valuable comments and gave useful advice for each competitor to take note of as well as be encouraged on ways to move forward.
Well done and I know your efforts were appreciated by all those who attended.
Looking forward to your talk on August 4th
Best regards
John"

"Kylie Martin returned as external judge for our 2nd Open themed competition of our season. Being "open" the range of subjects submitted by our members was very varied and must have been challenging for Kylie but she coped admirably and offered detailed critique for each image with both praise and helpful comments as to how the image could be improved." (Overview on Wincanton CC - Home Page)
"For this competition we welcomed Kylie Martin as judge for the evening. With an open theme the range of images submitted by our members was very varied and of a high standard. Judging was, therefore, not an easy task. Kylie again gave each image a detailed critique and suggestions where the photographer could have made improvements. Three club members, Meyrick, Hannah and Roger, were awarded a maximum mark of 20 out 20 and deservedly so. Our thanks to Kylie and to Paul for organising the evening." (Wincanton CC - Photographs Page)
- feedback from Meyrick Griffith-Jones (Treasurer)
"Dear Kylie – just to say thanks for judging. Marking is one thing, but the really useful bit is all the comments. Those one takes away and applies. The great thing is to have a different and educated eye passed over one’s photos. As always the comments were so constructive.
Many many thanks for a really good evening.
Best, M"

"Just wanted to say thank you for an excellent evenings judging for Dingwall Camera Club on Monday night. We all had a good blether after you signed off to attend to “Mr Dexter”, the most handsome of Chocolate Labradors. Feedback was super positive. Your critique was most appreciated and demonstrated a sound in depth knowledge of your craft. Some good advice offered for the authors backed up with your thought process of how things could be tweaked.
…..….and all delivered in a relaxed humorous style. Thanks again Kylie – hope we meet again."
